2010 JANUARY
But I start the new year rejoicing as my fabulous granddaughter is learning to sit up, talk and is eager to be on the move. I am working 24/7 on a new massive crystals project with Debbie to be published worldwide with Carlton Books and I am then working on other new books including one on the darker side of life and how to transform that darkness into light. In September I will begin my three month Grand Tour of Australia and New Zealand when I hope to meet lots of you. I am visiting Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane as well as Auckland and I hope the South Island of New Zealand. The site too will continue to grow and change as will the online courses, as Debbie’s expertise as an eco-artist will combine forces with my magical knowledge to expand and enrich a number of the course areas. Right now my family is battling swine flu, but in spite of that the whole family managed to celebrate together with Christmas sacks doubling as festive sick buckets on two of the days of Christmas! So Debbie and I wish you every happiness for 2010 as you skateboard, jet ski, tap dance or totter like me into the fabulous, hairy scary adolescence of the new millennia. My only advice is to remember what we regret most is what we never try, that the sun really does raise to give a new beginning every day and that this is not the dress rehearsal but the grand performance of our lifetime. NOVEMBER & DECEMBER 2009 Another November is half way through, a November marked for me by my fifth Witchfest in Croydon where I met many old friends and even more new ones. For the first time I taught a workshop on Mind Magic, using the power of the chakras, our psychic energy centres to create a spell entirely by visualisation. The more adventurous members of the group made symbols with play clay that definitely left its indelible mark in vivid colours on their hands as they wove magic and empowered their wishes with the power of their fingertips and psychokinetic mind power. Now I am in France for three weeks working on lots of new projects with Debbie. I have at last finished the first part of the pendulum dowsing online course and it will soon be on the site after Debbie has transformed the creative chaos into more creative order. I am currently writing my two part Goddess online course before plunging into a marathon project Debbie and I are undertaking on crystals. Though the time of the year for those of us in the northern hemisphere is moving downwards towards Midwinter, now just over a month away, there are many compensations. These include going for walks well wrapped up in the mysterious misty or wind tossed world of raw winter and coming home for hot buttery crumpets, enjoying a good book by the fireside and being able to light candles morning and evening to create a magical world within our home. Of course across the world in the southern hemisphere, the year is still rising towards Midsummer. In the lecture I gave at Witchfest, I was talking about how important it was to take the seeds from the mirror festival across the world, six months away season-wise and incorporate it into our own seasonal festivities so we can experience the energies of the whole wheel of the world. Some people asked if I would put my lecture online. Here are one or two parts of it that relate to the simultaneous coming of winter in the northern world and high summer in the south. Making your own Wheel of the World When one half of world is in darkness, the other is bathed in light. The crescent moon faces different ways in the different hemispheres. Circles in the southern hemisphere are cast deosil or sun-wise that is in the direction against the clock. The element Fire is sometimes placed in the north of a ritual circle in the southern hemisphere, the direction of the equator from the southern hemisphere. The element Air may be set in the south to represent the cold air blowing from the Antarctic in southern hemisphere magick. In South East Australia the Water element may be in the east, the direction of the ocean, but the reverse is true on the western seaboards. The Southern Cross replaces the Pole Star as the guiding constellation for shamans if you look at the night sky from south of the equator. So the magical Wheel of the World is like riding a carousel. Your viewpoint depends on where you get on and off. One world, one magick We can now cross world by plane in 24 hours and the settlers in the southern hemisphere took Northern magical traditions to the southern hemisphere. But there they encountered indigenous traditions that were linked to the actual seasons and the land that were six months ahead of those in the north. Take one example. In the northern climes our midwinter comes around December 21. The Mid Winter Solstice or Yule festival in New Zealand on June 21 in 2009 draws on the indigenous roots of Matariki, the Maori New Year that in 2009 was celebrated by many Maori people on June 24. Both Matariki and Mid Winter traditionally centre on thanksgiving for the food provided by Mother Earth and the hope that there will be sufficient resources to last through the winter. They also both celebrate the return of light, in the case of Matariki the first new moon or in some traditions first full moon after the rising of the Pleiades over the horizon. So the magical traditions brought by settlers from the old world, moved round six months to fit with the seasonal and solar patterns of the southern hemisphere. Magically the Midwinter Solstice whenever celebrated heralds the birth of the new sun king. It also marks the return of light after the shortest day and longest night of the year. For the Wheel of the whole world is two halves of the same egg, two sides of a Ferris wheel so one is up as the other is down. There are not two separate wheels and if you stood on the equator with one foot in each hemisphere were that possible, you would experience the dual energies. If we can ride the whole wheel in magick and not just our own geographical half then we can escape from the everyday plane into true magick. For since all magick is cast on the astral plane then of course the physical directions and matching up festivals precisely do not have to matter. Magick is all about as if, let this orange carnelian crystal represent the fertility I need or may this bag of rose petals and rosemary call faithful love to me. In the Wheel of the World magick we can set and should set our own boundaries, depending on the seasonal energies that are flowing upwards through the soles of your feet from Mother Earth. Wherever you are tuned into your own energy centres that mirror the natural world, you will likewise spontaneously tune into the energy centres of the natural world and the animals and people who are part of nature even in a town centre. The traditional rituals are contained in the earth from those who farmed the fields and danced round the sacred groves even if now they are buried beneath a city street. Indeed many cathedrals such as St Paul’s in London and Notre Dame in Paris have Druidic groves beneath them. Therefore wherever you are in the world at or close to seasonal change points when the eight yearly wheel rituals are celebrated, you can if you stop and sit quietly for a while in silence tune into the rising or falling, sowing, reaping, nurturing or laying fallow energies of the ritual place. When we travel, jet lag is not just about zone time differences but the energies of the chakra centres of the land. Cairo, New York, Manchester and Tokyo all have different energies or chakra systems and these are likewise affected by the seasons, the cycles of the sun and moon and the planets. As with the Tao symbol where yang contains the seeds of yin and yin contains the seeds of yang, each festival contains seeds of the other festivals and especially its mirror festival directly across the Wheel or six months away seasonally. So Beltane the rising of the year between April 30 and May 2 in the northern hemisphere, but October 31-November 2 in the southern hemisphere is promising future fertility to people, cattle and corn. Yet it is linked to its mirror festival Samhain, the festival of the ancestors as Beltane itself is rooted in the past. For even in the festivals of the ascending or growing light from Midwinter in December, the change point, to Imbolc at the beginning of February and right until the Summer Solstice, the ancestors were invited and asked for blessings as a continuing part of the family. Whatever point of the wheel’s turning you are celebrating or indeed on any family occasions, I believe, to remember your personal ancestors who once gathered in the harvest or danced round the Maypole in the sunshine or picked a few flowers from the soot covered hedgerows on the way to the factory at the beginning of spring. Indeed many ancient fertility festivals did involve visiting the long barrows of the ancestors asking for their help. The bones of the ancestors were carried with great reverence from West Kennet Long Barrow, in Wiltshire where they were carefully preserved to nearby Windmill Hill in the north east for ritual in Neolithic times, in the springtime ask favour on the sowing. At the Spring Equinox too the previous year’s grain dolly from the harvest was burned and the ashes scattered in the fields to give life to the newly planted seeds. At Samhain the Grandmother of Winter rises from her sleep to care for the animals during the winter but she is the same person who gives birth the maiden of spring in the older tradition or acts as midwife for the sun king infant at the Midwinter festival. Especially during the darker colder festivals it is good to across in hope to what will be only six months away or tune into a web cam of celebrations of the mirror festival in the other hemisphere. Christmas at Midsummer and Halloween at Beltane can sit side by side comfortably if we see them as two halves. Samhain (31 October-November 2 in the northern hemisphere) twinned with Beltane (October 31-Novemeber 2 in the Southern hemisphere). We have just passed the dying year of Samhain in the northern hemisphere, the time of misrule as the goddess visits her lover in the underworld and the spirits and fairies roam free, time without time. But let us as our northern hemisphere Samhain dips further down the wheel as November takes grip weather and light wise, reach across the world to the simultaneous southern Beltane. Picture as the fog chokes and the rain pours, the flowers, the Morris dancers, couples leaping over the twin fires, making love in the fields and gathering hawthorn blossoms. Think as you turn up the heating of fertility in your own life, creativity and one thing you wish even in these darker colder days to germinate that will flow by our next Beltane at the beginning of May. In the southern hemisphere know that future fertility rests on the shoulders of the past and we should value our actual and spiritual roots and link with those of the land on which our feet walk or dance. So let’s combine the two festivals. What are the positive aspects of Samhain just past we can combine with the creativity and promise of Beltane a web cam blink away. Do you need to take a chance, break a rule or two or leave something behind? Think of the story of Jack o’ lantern and the loveliest of the three Irish Morrigu sister goddesses, who three times in his life asked him to go with her across the river of death to immortality. Each time he was afraid and so it is said he clings to life, walking always in the twilight between life and death with only his small light. So set your plan on the aether and before you begin to plan your future creations in the long dark evenings, cast anything that is not working to be absorbed by the grandmother. Say as a mantra for these twin festivals and for November wherever you live, I create and I destroy. And so the world turns and the wheel of the world turns Midwinter Solstice (December 21 in the northern hemisphere), twinned with the Midsummer Solstice (December 21 in the southern hemisphere). Then as November draws to a close so we link with the final dip in the wheel in northern climes and daylight scarcely seems to dawn. As we shiver towards the Midwinter Solstice we can be warmed by ever growing warmth and light, soon to reach its height on the other side of the world, anticipating the parallel Midsummer sun wheels of fire being rolled down the hillsides on December 21 in the southern climes. Will you walk into the darkness with me asks the old crone beckoning us from her Midwinter cave as she prepares for the birth of the new infant sun king. Yes life may seem dark right now and in the weeks ahead. But look through the hole in the curtain of the sky as darkness falls and we fear the sun will die like our ancestors as all lights are extinguished in the circle apart from the tiny central flame and the birthing mother cries out in fear and pain. For there as the southern hemisphere practitioners look forward to bathing in the healing waters warmed by the first Solstice sun’s rays that are so potent for healing on their simultaneous Summer Solstice ,we all can appreciate the truth of the saying, Be not sad be, as the sun at midday. So writes the I Ching and in the south or north we know the wheel constantly turns and gain follows loss, joy follows sorrow, hope despair and light follows darkness in a never ending cycle. Reach out for your power as you reach out as you are faced with Christmas shopping at a time when the credit crunch still bites hard or maybe reclaim your power after a long absence at this festival. Do not worry about impermanence or that you have to cut down financially at a time we are urged to spend. Give promises of help and keep them as Christmas gifts. Yes the sun king will decline at the end of the southern Summer Solstice day, but just a web cam blink away, the Midwinter Solstice promises the rising of the new sun. Tomorrow is another day. So no, you cannot have guarantees that a relationship or venture will last forever without setbacks. But light returns as the little infant cries in the darkness to bring the promise of another chance to get it right and Christmas is about love and togetherness and not the material value of the offerings. So focus now on what you want more than anything spiritually and emotionally and make that leap of faith. Do not be held back by what if it goes wrong? ´Hold the hand of the Crone of winter and know she is one and the same into the golden sun mother common to the Celts as Sulis the sun goddess and among the Australian Aboriginal peoples as the sun mother with her digging stick who gave the people the plants and waterholes and still it is said checks on her creation in regular visits from the Dreamtime Say with conviction I seize opportunity and I accept the consequences. And so the world turns and the wheel of the world turns Whether you are basking in warmth or putting on an extra layer to save on heating bills, may your personal wheel turn and November be filled with light and anticipation of the great adventure we call life, Love Cassandra and Debbie OCTOBER 2009 I am back from France after a wonderful ten days when Debbie and I tracked down Black Madonnas, the enigmatic dark wood or metal covered statues, many of which have distinctive African or Middle Eastern features. These statues were often originally kept in crypts or found in woodland, in caves or near water, creating all kinds of theories about the origins and powers of these mysterious earth mothers. They are more homely than the porcelain perfect blue and white Madonnas with their unlined features and infants who surely never burped or yelled for food. Many Black Madonnas also have accounts of healing miracles woven into their mystical and sometimes semi mythical history. We also visited a Celtic well wooded site where nine carved stone steps lead up a high rock to where earth and sky meet. I tried a new form of water scrying in the carved basin on top of the rock by writing my question on the surface of the water with my index finger and reading the ripples. Exploring a huge labyrinth that turned out to be one of the largest planted mazes in the world threw me back on to the superior psychic powers of seven year old Caitlin and a large measure of good luck to eventually find our way out before the search party arrived. Now the leaves in England are turning scarlet and gold and rapidly falling underfoot. It is growing nightly more chill as Freya my infant granddaughter and I continue our night time meanderings down to the river Medina in the urban centre of the Isle of Wight. Freya is starting to smile and laugh and her tiny eyes sparkle at the lights reflected in the water. As with young Caitlin, Debbie’s daughter, life through the eyes of the young takes on magick, wonder and mystery we often no longer observe as we focus inwards or on the mundane world with our adult sophistication. Logic and technology may blind us to the tawny nature essences dancing in scrubby bushes in a concrete city square. We draw the curtains to screen out the shimmering moonlight that transforms even the ugliest urban landscape into fairy tale castles and mysterious forests. The Equinox now more than a week past is the time for personal assessment of what has been achieved and its energies can be carried forward for future development. Time also for burying over ripe fruit and symbolically with it abandoned dreams to be transformed into new life by Mother Earth as the land lies beneath its winter blanket. Equal day and night when the dark brother of nature defeated the lord of light, brings longer nights and the necessity to scatter to the winds the seeds of what must be let go to either grow or remain unfulfilled according to the will of the cosmos. Debbie and I talked long into the Equinox night about trusting in the future, taking a leap of faith and letting our feet not our minds lead us on the right future path. The next morning Debbie showed me a book she had recently bought and was reading just before sleep. Underlined in green on the first page she had turned to that night were the precise words we had been using about the need for taking that leap of faith - we have no idea how that got there. Often daily life does give us signs confirming the rightness of choices or decisions, but we may miss them, ignore or misread the significance or fail to act. Have you ever received a sign or omen whether in nature, a line in a page of a book to which you have seemingly randomly turned or a song on the radio when you suddenly turned it on, that echoed an earlier conversation or confirmed advice you were given but doubted? I am starting to collect meaningful coincidences or psychic signposts from everyday life experiences for a new book and I would love to hear of any in your life that confirmed the rightness of a decision or echoed a warning you had been ignoring. This month I am offering a new online dream service as well as the usual dream analysis. I will work with you with any significant or recurring dreams and create personalised psychic exercises and rituals so you can use your dreams and the often unknown or unrecognized information they reveal to release increasing power, harmony and confidence into your daily life. I have also restructured the clairvoyant readings section so I can offer more in-depth, comprehensive and hopefully more helpful answers to your questions as well as general insight into related matters about which you may not have asked but nevertheless wondered. The final five CDS in the Magick Chronicles series will at last be for sale on the site this month to join Love Magick and my own favourite, Moon Magick. So as the late sun of October wheels its way downwards via Halloween to November and on the other side of the world people are getting ready to celebrate high summer, may what did not work out for you be transformed into beauty and new life. SEPTEMBER More than a month has passed and my granddaughter Freya is growing daily and with an undiminished enthusiasm for socializing in the small hours of the morning. My daughter and I have been sharing the night patrol. Freya and I are becoming devotees of the Free view 2am Inspector Poirot Omnibus and vintage offerings such as Upstairs Downstairs. I am also becoming expert again as I was when my own children were young, of typing one handed, holding a thought while struggling to work out the aerodynamics of the baby suit and putting in the capital letters afterwards. This has been my summer of not going anywhere and it has meant a total reprioritizing of my former workaholic tendencies where a second spent if I was not writing, reading something esoteric or travelling was a second wasted. How many beautiful sunsets must I have missed, how many meals eaten at the computer and not enjoyed, how many conversations not about work cut short because I was always in a rush to be on with the next project or driving to the next town?. Now my life is measured not as TS Eliot suggested in coffee spoons, but in three hourly feeding, winding, changing, soothing heart rending sobs at a bottle warmed two minutes late or anxiously checking Freya is breathing as she all too rarely lies cherub like and motionless at last in her Moses basket. Come mid September I will be off on my travels again to work on the website and look for Black Madonnas in Central France with Debbie as part of our ongoing project. But now I will take time to look out of the plane window for cloud angels as I advise everyone else to do. I will take the slow train when I return to Sweden after too many months absence to research a new book on Norse goddesses, including the feisty Freya the swan cloaked battle maiden and goddess of love and beauty, beloved by ordinary women who struggled to take care of farmsteads single handed when their men were off voyaging. I will look out at the shimmering lakes and endless pine forests instead of tapping away furiously on my portable computer for the 1000 miles from Portsmouth to Norköpping, creating cyber magick but oblivious to beautiful reality and life outside the moving windows. Who would have thought twelve months ago I would be without house and car and travelling not road trips but online miles? For I am radically reassessing my work pattern to move virtually online to create a school of thought in cyber space with the help of Debbie. As well as producing our new courses in psychic development, past lives, ancient wisdom and earth energies, divination to include runes, Tarot and tree staves, healing and pagan living and continuing the magical course towards the eventual 36 parts, we are planning to sub divide all our courses into sections. This means you can literally create your own super course from a whole variety of topics, guided to choice by us if you wish, so you can complete and have assessed your unique spiritual studies. The second part of our stand alone Psychic Protection course will soon be on line as will Part 1 of the Psychic Development course that begins with pendulums. I was recently asked if I could create a dedication and personal initiation for a student of Witchcraft and to perform a ceremony on her behalf. Many solitary practitioners do want some kind of dedication in the early stages of their studies and I am always happy to craft something special. I hope in 2010 to introduce a complete rites of passage service section for people who want to carry out their own baby naming, hand fasting, adoption rites or pagan funerals and need everything from ideas to a complete unique service with chants. All I lack is time. But the future is online and we will even produce our own e book additional course materials eventually. So watch this space and tell us what you would like us to create. AUGUST 2009 Life can stagnate, flow harmoniously, gallop like a stallion racing in the wind, totter or stride impatiently along to the next staging post. For me the start of August has been the life stage when Mother Turtle who in Far Eastern and Native North American traditions supports the world, rolls over and flips her lazy and too often complaining passengers into the water to swim for shore . On August 4, my wondrous granddaughter Freya Rose was born to my equally wondrous and brave daughter Jade after a long and very difficult labour ending in an emergency caesarean. I was lucky enough to share the long vigil with Jade. Being able to hold tiny Freya is a reminder that there is goodness, beauty and innocence in the world and how precious and precarious life is. Recently life has been a personal struggle for me and I have in spite of my strong spiritual beliefs in the basic goodness of humanity, frequently walked through the shadows and questioned if the dawn would rise again. Then last night, my car skidded on a road across the island hills and plunged through a hedge and down a steep embankment. There was a split second in which I accepted I had seen my much anticipated granddaughter born and knew she was surrounded by love and everyone could manage without me. I had seen my books published and was about to test my theories of the afterlife. Then suddenly as if in slow motion I started to steer a path towards the level ground and slowed the car gently to a halt. Seconds later I walked from the car almost unhurt. My younger daughter Miranda has jokingly suggested there must have been an angel at each corner of the car lifting it up and in a sense she was right, though not the gold winged kind which would have totally freaked me out and convinced me I had passed over. But the calm inner instructions that enabled me to stop the car suggest I was helped. What is more my human angel in the form of a holidaymaker called Jonathan climbed down after seeing the car leave the road and disappear while everyone else drove by. He stayed with me, sorted the car and he and his family made sure I got home safely. So what now? A fabulous granddaughter and a sunny morning and an urgency that I have to use my second chance to maximum advantage. I am therefore starting to collect experiences for a book I am going to write on minor miracles. These will include not only dramatic life and death stories though these are welcome, but times when you had given up and a source of unexpected help and kindness helped you to carry on. This could be an angel, a deceased relative or spirit guide or an all too human stranger who suddenly appears when you have a crisis or your world has fallen apart. If you could contribute any experiences to the book Debbie and I will be glad to receive them. As email addresses change and the book is an ongoing project it would be helpful but not essential if you could include a contact address or land line purely for my records. Debbie is continuing to research and photograph Black Madonnas and we aim to produce the most comprehensive information as well as considering new and reassessing existing theories on these mysterious sacred Christianised mother goddess figures. If you do come across one of these dark wood statues that are often tucked away in a crypt or dark corner of a church, please send us any photos you take, information you learn about the origins (usually connected with nature) and most importantly your impressions and experiences with Black Madonnas and we will credit you. We will also publish your photographs on our Black Madonna web pages. Owing to the success of the Credit Crunch magick for a fiver course Debbie and I are planning further short taster courses as well as expanding our range of teaching courses to include creative and traditional magical crafts to empower your spells. I am currently working on a pendulum module to open the new psychic development course. This will also be a stand alone learning module and it will be sufficiently comprehensive and rooted in everyday needs to help anyone who wants to get in touch with and learn to trust their intuition more. I will also in the future months create a second slightly more advanced pendulum unit specifically on working with psychic and healing energies of all kinds through the pendulum Freya is slowing my creative processes somewhat as she is a very vocal baby night owl. But as she gazes at me with her wise calm eyes I am reminded of TS Eliot’s poem about childhood. Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting:
The years have flown since Freya’s mother and my other children were curiously observing the world through their wise infant eyes. I can appreciate as a fledgling grandmother the joys of babies as well as the hard work. So as time races on I am determined to make something of worth with my second chance at life. With love from Debbie and Cassandra, August, 2009 JULY 2009 This has been a busy month website wise as Debbie and I have at last created the promised Credit Crunch magick for a fiver in keeping with the spirit of the times. The two part psychic protection course is being beautified and organised by Debbie and has given us the idea of mixing and matching courses so you can learn what you want. Every unit is already sold individually. So for example psychic protection parts 1 and 2 soon to be on site are stand alone courses. But they will in addition form parts 6 and 7 of the ongoing magick course and parts 2 and 3 of the just being formulated psychic development course. This psychic development course will include all forms of clairvoyance, divination and many related psychic powers and also relevant units from other courses, such as the first self-contained how to read auras part 1 and part 1 of past lives. Right now I am writing an introductory pendulums unit to launch the psychic development course and I will add other pendulum units when I offer my healing course in late 2009. I have also been asked to create a power animal and animal communication and healing course and we already have a stand alone animal and auras unit in our existing auras course. All the six and six plus unit courses already offer an optional written assessment and certification on completion of the assessment. However we hope to be able to offer a distance learning package made up of topics that interest you and in the future to back this with an online forum where you can talk to people who share your spiritual viewpoint of the world. I am right now after years of frantic activity in a fallow period where I am not travelling far beyond the Isle of Wight. Therefore to plan and create with the help of Debbie these online mind travels is a real adventure for me and there are not enough hours in the day. Best of all I am daily anticipating the arrival of my granddaughter and for me that is one of life’s greatest gifts. To have been able to share the preparations (mainly getting in the way and fussing unnecessarily) has been such a privilege and I am hoping my rusty baby skills will kick back in as the baby makes her mark upon the world. Finally I have been catching up on emails as ill health and working away has put me so far behind. But some mails I fear I have lost (my fault) while transferring systems. If you did send an e mail more than two weeks ago and I have not replied, please send me it again and I will reply as soon as I can. When I do not answer it is not that I do not care, for your mails are very important to me. But I sometimes get snowed under with emails and being a techno idiot press the wrong button and ruin Debbie’s organised system in a random key press. So I wish you either a wonderful summer or winter depending on where you live and as I lie fallow, hope like the grain to rise again golden and joyous. Love Cassandra July, 2009
JUNE 2009 This new site is progressing, thanks to Debbie’s expertise and hard work and we now have a new feature of a different spell, crystal and angel for you to learn about each month. The crystals are all easily obtainable. I also have two new CDs on the market, Love and Moon Magick. These are part of a seven set magic course on CD which as far as I know is unique. Future titles I have already recorded are Prosperity Magick, Healing Magick, Workplace Magick and Defensive Magick, an even stronger version of Psychic Protection. These are different from my online courses and are self contained within the CD. But like all my courses they provide an introduction and enough information if you want to use the subjects to improve your everyday world and I am aiming to have at least a single online unit on each CD topic so you can then take the basic knowledge further. In fact Debbie and I are working hard creating new online courses. Soon the Unit on Psychic Protection will be added to the existing five parts of the magick course. The Psychic Protection unit is designed also to be taken as a stand alone one part course(with or without the Psychic Protection CD) to be taken by anyone even if you know nothing about magick to offer methods of psychic protection we sadly need in the modern world, I am currently writing a stand alone one part course called Credit Crunch Magick that in keeping with the spirit of things will be sold for five pounds (half price). Then in response to a number of requests via the site I shall be creating a five part Discover your past lives course with lots of information about twin souls and practical suggestions to become a time-traveller. The existing magick course which will have 39 parts eventually will move on to working with the goddess and god energies. These units should be of interest to anyone developing their spirituality and can be bought as separate courses. Currently I am planning an extensive 13 part psychic development course as well, plus stand alone units to accompany the Moon Magick and Love magick CDs. All my courses are very practically based as if we were sharing a cup of coffee together, and contain new unpublished material and many activities and exercises so you can develop as far as you want and take as long as you wish over each unit. Whether you are expert or beginner each unit takes you through the material step by step and offers you the chance to develop your spirituality and magical powers that we all possess in our own unique ways. This year I am travelling less than usual as my eldest daughter Jade is expecting a baby in July. I am feeling like the first person ever to become a grandmother as I discover all the changes in child care since I brought up my own five. I hope to be present at the birth or if not hovering very close. However I am giving a lecture/workshop at St James’ Alternatives, held at St James’ Church in Piccadilly in London on Monday June 29 about my new book Angel Magick, inspiration for busy people that has just come out with Piatkus. This book suggests ways of bringing angel energies into the everyday world and I hope to meet some of you after the talk. I did meet old and new friends at Witchfest last month and also at the Pagan Federation Beltane Bash in London where I ended up doing double lectures each day as a speaker was unable to attend. I am going to France in September for my Divination and Scrying course that is held in a fabulous location in stunning countryside and we still have one or two places. Debbie and I will also be able to get together to plan our next steps for the site and hopefully put together definite plans for bringing all the courses under one School of Thought so people can work towards diplomas with us, made up of mix and match units and of course you can count any you have already completed. Oh, and then there is our ebook project! The first title is in progress and is on ghosts. My E-book Project aims to bring out some of my older books not now in print headed under the "Cassandra Eason Classic Range" and also to add new unpublished titles. Then there is the blossoming Black Madonna project. Debbie and I hope to dash round France adding new Black Madonnas to our ever growing research file. This ongoing research we will share with you on the site and eventually in E-book format So for a month doing nothing at home, life is quite hectic. I have even signed up to a local gym and started walking again to try to keep my frequently too high blood pressure down. Watch this space for the new dynamic Cassandra! MAY 2009 Be not sad, be as the sun at midday says the I Ching. This means in the language of the everyday world, try to enjoy each present moment. Do not waste time worrying about the past or fretting about the future. Buddhism calls this living in the present mindfulness and it is incredibly hard to achieve. My own life has changed so much since I last wrote. I have finally closed the door on my beloved home of twenty years and I have taken remarkably little with me of what once seemed so important to daily living. The house represented me as a good mother (my children are now all grown up and relatively independent), as part of a community and the place where I wrote my books and looked out over the hills for inspiration. As the seasons turned and I watched the leaves in the garden grow, flourish and fade, I tried to hold that world too long. I am like many people at heart a creature of habit, but there are dreams to dust down and new ones to create. Other people’s worlds are changing too. My beloved eldest daughter Jade now a successful career woman with a home of her own, is expecting a daughter herself in two months time. Yet it seems only moments since she was playing house with my pots and pans and lining up her toy animals in an imaginary zoo. I had a health scare recently and so time is different for me now and more precious. What matters now is passing on what I have learned over many years so others can use it in different and better ways. I am now myself learning many new forms of magick and spirituality and at last after thirty years, writing fiction and poetry again. As I question just about everything in the universe and try to find answers, I hope to become wiser. Any new insights I gain I would like to share with you in future books, in my online and face to face courses, at festivals, through my website and if I am lucky enough to meet any of you in person. Best foot forward was what my late mother used to say and she was far wiser than with the impatience of youth I ever acknowledged. As April turns into May and the energies of the year rise again in hope and promises of adventure, I send you my love as I set off on my adventure with my cats, my computers and endless possibility.
